Questions rise over suspected ‘help’ for fugitive Desmond Freeman as manhunt concludes

Criminologist Xanthe Weston weighs in on the shooting of fugitive Desmond Freeman as concerns grow over whether he received assistance.

Mr Freeman had been on the run since the fatal shooting of two police officers on his property in Porepunkah on August 26 last year.

“The police never stopped looking; they have proved loyal to that commitment this morning,” Ms Weston told Sky News Australia.

“They are going to be asking questions as to whether he had assistance.

“Somebody may have been helping him.”
