‘Never seen before’: NSW unveils massive shark drone operation

Surf Life Saving NSW CEO Steven Pearce says the state’s unprecedented drone network will provide the largest shark surveillance blanket ever deployed anywhere in the world.

“This is a huge investment in shark surveillance,” Mr Pearce told Sky News host Jaimee Rogers.

“A huge blanket of UAV drone surveillance never seen before anywhere in the world.

“Our pilots are trained specifically to look for our target sharks, and that’s a bull shark, a tiger shark or a white shark.”
