‘Is data captured?’: Government’s terror deradicalisation system under fire

Former AFP Detective Superintendent David Craig questions whether the federal and state governments can effectively coordinate and capture deradicalisation data after referrals jumped 18 per cent since Bondi.

“I think that perhaps the figures indicate that since Bondi there’s been an 18 per cent increase in referrals to deradicalisation; that’s a good thing,” Mr Craig told News24 host Peta Credlin.

“The negative point is these programs are funded and coordinated federally, but they’re administered through the states and territories.

“Is all that data being captured and fed back to Home Affairs, so we can get accurate data so that we can intervene early with these sorts of problems?”
