‘I wouldn’t let them back’: Outrage over return of ISIS brides

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer doesn’t believe Australians who joined the Islamic State should be allowed to return.

“Let’s try to remember what an Islamic state really is about, they were executing Westerners and cutting off their heads,” Mr Downer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“These four women have gone and joined them.

“In principle, I wouldn’t let them back into Australia.

“We shouldn’t be bringing into this country people who have the ambition of destroying our whole political, social, and structural system.”
