Former foreign minister rejects Labor excuse over ISIS brides’ passports

Former foreign minister Alexander Downer believes the Labor government’s argument that they had to give the ISIS brides passports is quite bizarre, considering he knows from experience that it isn’t the case.

“You can cancel people’s passports,” Mr Downer told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“You can deny people’s passports in certain circumstances, particularly when they have allegedly committed egregious criminal offences.

“As usual with the Labor Party, they’re playing both ends against the middle here.”
