European governments blasted for soft stance on illegal immigration

Spiked Chief Political Writer Brendan O’Neill says European governments are putting up a “huge green light” to illegal immigrants around the world because of their “soft touch”.

​“We’ll give you a hotel, we’ll give you welfare, we’ll give you the right to work,” Mr O’Neill told News24 host Jaimee Rogers.

​“The more that they advertise our weakness, the more that we exacerbate this crisis.

​“Spain really sums that up.”
