‘We need to be vigilant’: PM issues warning to anti-immigration agendas

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has used a speech at a multicultural event to issue a warning that Australia needs to be on the lookout for those who want to turn back the clock to an “Australia that is no longer who we are”.

The Prime Minister praised migrant communities but warned some people are not pro-immigration.

“There are some, including some in political life, want to turn back the clock to an Australia that is no longer who we are, and we need to call out those people,” Mr Albanese said.

“And we need to continue to cherish our diversity as a strength for our nation, which it is.”
