Wall Street markets see a negative lead as stocks continue to fall amid rising bond yields

CommSec’s James Gruber claims US share markets on Wall Street saw a negative lead overnight.

“The S&P 500 down 0.7 per cent and the Nasdaq 0.8 per cent lower, and it was all about rising bond yields,” he told Sky News Australia.

“Now, why do they matter? Well, they’re expecting inflation to be higher and potentially that interest rates may need to rise in the US to quell that inflation, and that’s not a great thing.

“That’s why stocks are falling.”
