US threatens full control of the Strait of Hormuz as a ‘negotiating strategy’

US Studies Centre Honorary Associate Harry Melkonian says the US is threatening full control of the Strait of Hormuz as a “negotiating strategy” with Iran.

The US and Iran remain at a crossroads in negotiations over ending the war in the Middle East.

This comes as US President Donald Trump announced he will declare the Strait of Hormuz American territory.
