US officials raise concerns over protection of Australian bases

News24 Defence Analyst Peter Jennings reacts to US officials reportedly raising concerns over the protection levels of Australian bases.

“Trump continues to see real value in the Australian alliance … Albo and Trump agreed there had been significant progress made under AUKUS,” Mr Jennings told News24 host Danica De Giorgio.

“I’ve criticised Anthony Albanese for failing to develop a close personal relationship with Trump.

“But, whatever the personal relationship looks like, the transactional relationship between the two governments appears to be working.”
