‘Unregulated system’: Burke’s migration speech stalls as Labor buckles under internal pressure

News24 Political Contributor Chris Uhlmann warns Labor is under growing pressure to act on immigration after Tony Burke’s promised speech was delayed multiple times.

“Labor Party sees the threat; there is a real concern in the community, it’s being amplified by One Nation,” Mr Uhlmann told News24 host Peta Credlin.

“This is the Labor Party’s response to it, but unfortunately you are always going to get pushback internally.

“This is a complicated area, yet all parties need to do something about it because most of the population has come to the conclusion that this is an unregulated system.”
