Ukraine vows revenge on Russia after attack on Kyiv kills 24

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised to punish Russia for what was the largest two-day attack on Ukraine since the beginning of its war.

Subsequently, Ukraine’s military has claimed responsibility for a strike on an oil refinery in Ryazan, about 200 kilometres southeast of Moscow.

President Zelensky said it is “entirely justified” in its response.

He visited the apartment block in Kyiv where 24 people, including three children, were killed in the Russian strikes.

It was one of 50 residential buildings attacked over two days by 1,500 drones and dozens of missiles.
