Trump threatens swift and overwhelming destruction to ships placing new mines in Hormuz strait
President Trump has delivered a stark warning to Iran, declaring any vessel caught laying new mines in the Strait of Hormuz will be destroyed.
Trump said the US Navy had removed or detonated all mines in international waters, paving the way for shipping to resume through the vital route.
The president warned Iran that Washington is enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy and said the Space Force is watching “every square inch” of the strait.
The explosive threat comes as Trump maintains a naval blockade of Iranian ports while ramping up economic pressure on Tehran.
