Trump strikes deal with Russia as soaring fuel costs threaten Republican midterm hopes

President Donald Trump has announced a deal with Russia as the price of fuel is becoming a key issue 25 days before the US midterms.

Fuel and fuel economy are significant issues in these US midterm elections, particularly for Republicans in some of those states that are dominated by rural areas, farming communities, trucking and transport routes.

What President Trump is trying to do here is to show an intent that he is trying to get gas prices down, diesel prices down.
