TOTAL CHUD VICTORY

It got you to click, and that is exactly the point. Here is why negative content wins on social media, and why we need builders, not just critics.

I am not going to talk about anything in the title or thumbnail. I used them to prove a point. This will probably be one of my most clicked videos, and that says a lot about how social media works. Whether you came here ready to grill me or ready to back me up, it triggered something in you, and that is why you are here.

That is why so many people talk nonstop about the negatives in our industry and our hobby. It is how you get attention. It is not going to change anytime soon. And it is not about never talking about problems. You engage with that stuff too. We need a little bit of both.

We have plenty of people, like my good friend Gary, who are great at pointing out the issues plaguing the industry. What we do not have enough of is the other side. What happens after we point out the problems? People ask where the Western creators are and why the East is doing all the cool stuff. Well, there are a lot of us out here doing our thing. We just are not attached to the mainstream, and it is hard to get your attention.

The Rippaverse is an outlier. Do not look at us as representative of the entire Western market. We broke through in an industry people thought was dead, and that is very difficult to do. But we need more of it. Support us, or support somebody else doing awesome things. That is the only way we get to the other side instead of staying stuck talking about the mainstream forever. Videos I made years ago are still relevant because, for the most part, nothing has changed.

Same with the algorithm. When I moved from hot takes to nerdy stuff like economics, I knew a lot of you would not care. Even the people who claim to hate me want the hot take. Let’s keep it 100.

If you are tired of what the mainstream is putting out, the Rippaverse has a cheap buy-in. There are 29 books available digitally right now, at a much lower cost than the physical versions. Horror, fantasy, and a bit of everything, written by guys and gals like Chuck Dixon, the Soska Sisters, Carrow Brown, and myself. We are also doing animation. Isom is not the only book we put out.
