‘The line Trump was not willing to cross’: Analyst breaks down US-Iran conflict

Political journalist John Fund details how US President Donald Trump was not willing to put boots on the ground on Iran’s Kharg Island.

“The bombing would have had to go on much longer, and there probably would’ve had to be a ground component, namely taking Kharg Island,” Mr Fund told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“So that would’ve meant, not boots on the Iranian mainland but probably boots on Kharg Island, right off the coast.

“That was the line that President Trump was not willing to cross, and because of that, I would have to say, simply saying the bombing should’ve continued, I don’t necessarily think that would’ve been enough.”
