Maggie Gyllenhaaal’s The Bride is out, and while it was hotly anticipated by Hollywood and the Hollywood trades, it would appear the moviegoing audience were far more lukewarm about it from the get-go, because it underperformed in a very, very big way. Could it be that horror icons like Frankenstein, Dracula, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees have all had their time in this age of Scream 7 and Scary movie, or was this simply the wrong take on a classic property?
