‘That’s a disincentive’: Albanese’s budget tax changes could worsen housing crisis

Shadow Finance Minister Claire Chandler warns axing negative gearing and capital gains tax in Labor’s upcoming budget will not fix the housing supply crisis.

“You don’t create more of something by taxing it, and that’s exactly what this government is trying to do,” Ms Chandler told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“The fundamental principle is that if you want more of something, don’t tax it, that’s a disincentive to make more of it.”
