‘Terrible but not a crime’: Comey’s malicious Instagram post ‘not illegal’, expert says
Centre of the American Experiment President John Hinderaker spoke on the recent controversies surrounding former FBI director James Comey.
“Well, first, 8647 does mean kill Trump, that was a despicable thing for a former FBI director to say,” Mr Hinderaker told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“But there is a key difference here: it is not illegal to say I wish Trump were dead or to say that somebody ought to kill Trump.
“It’s terrible, but it’s not a crime; it is only a crime if you say I’m going to kill President Trump.”
