Rather than simply continuing where Season 3 left off, the series embraces a soft reboot by shifting much of its attention to AFC Richmond’s newly formed women’s team, the Lady Greyhounds.
The first five episodes successfully balance everything fans loved about the original series—heart, humor, and optimism—while introducing an entirely new roster of players, coaches, and challenges. Jason Sudeikis returns as Ted, but this time he wisely takes a smaller role, allowing the new team and its stories to become the emotional center of the series. That shift helps the show avoid repeating itself while opening the door to compelling new dynamics.
We also explore how the season addresses the challenges facing women’s football, from financial concerns to fan perception, while introducing standout newcomers like Tanya Reynolds’ Alice Chilton alongside returning favorites including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift.
