Spider-Man Saves the MCU… While She-Hulk’s Activists Keep Embarrassing It!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day just delivered the biggest domestic opening weekend in history — even bigger than Avengers: Endgame — and it did it without relying on IMAX premiums. For the MCU, it’s a massive sigh of relief after years of brand damage.But make no mistake: that damage was largely self-inflicted through aggressive DEI initiatives both on screen and behind the scenes. And few projects illustrate the problem more clearly than the abominable She-Hulk.In this video we dig into new details courtesy of Robert Meyer Burnett and Daniel Friedman about what actually went on during production. Jessica Gao (of “Pickle Rick” and the infamous “Whiting Wongs” apology podcast) landed the showrunner job despite a writers’ room that openly admitted they had no idea how to write a legal procedural — the very premise the show was pitched on. The result was a troubled production that required extraordinary micromanagement from Kevin Feige, catastrophic test screenings, and a finale so chaotic that Gao nearly quit over a baseball cap on a robot named K.E.V.I.N.The show was cancelled after one season. Its events have been ignored. Tatiana Maslany is nowhere near Avengers: Doomsday. And the activists Marvel hired keep reminding everyone why the backlash was so strong — from Maslany calling for boycotts to Jameela Jamil comparing the British public to Thanos.Meanwhile, Spider-Man largely avoided the on-screen activism and remains one of the few MCU properties that still works.
