Spain crash train was travelling at 200 km/h, investigators say | BBC News

Officials are investigating the cause of a deadly train disaster in Spain, which occurred when a train from Madrid to Seville barrelled into a stationary train near Urda on Wednesday morning.

The crash killed 69 people and injured more than 100.

The impact caused carriages to derail, and there are fears the death toll could still rise, with reports of family members searching for missing relatives in hospitals across the region.

The crash is the second rail disaster in Spain this year, and the worst in the country’s history since 2013.
