SpaceX successfully launches Starship into orbit but ends flight early due to engine failure

SpaceX has successfully launched its Starship spacecraft into orbit for the first time.

Despite losing one engine during the ascent to space, the spacecraft successfully executed its orbital insertion burn during its 14th flight test.

Along its journey, the first batch of new Starlink satellites were deployed.

The mission had to be cut short as a result of the engine malfunction, making a controlled but fiery touchdown in the Pacific.
