‘Smug self-justification’: TV host tears into ABC’s ‘arrogant’ Rinehart apology

News24 host Rowan Dean delivered a scathing critique of the ABC, condemning managing director Hugh Marks’ apology to Gina Rinehart as inadequate and accusing the broadcaster of “arrogance” and “self-justification”.

“The apology from the ABC’s managing director Hugh Marks to Gina Rinehart about the ABC’s disgusting, sadistic, pornographic so-called satire was completely unacceptable,” Mr Dean said.

“Coming nearly a month after the initial depraved piece of hate-filled incitement to murder was originally broadcast with the full approval of the entire ABC apparatus.

“Hugh Marks cloaked his apology in classic ABC arrogance, smug self-justification.”
