Should be ashamed’: UK PM mocked over Trump U-turn

Sky News contributor Emily Carver mocks Andy Burnham after he praised Donald Trump, despite previously calling for the US President to be banned from Manchester.

“This is how it usually starts with Donald Trump. Donald Trump posts these quite nice, very polite, very diplomatic on his own social media platform and then we actually see how things unfold,” Ms Carver told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“Let’s remind ourselves what Andy Burnham has had to say about Donald Trump in the past.

“In 2021 Andy said any UK politician who gave Trump the time of day should be ashamed; well, he’s going to have to now, isn’t he?

“In 2017 he demanded the deeply troubling leader of the free world be banned from Manchester; well, now he’s actually inviting Donald Trump to Manchester for the G20 Summit.”
