🎬 Director’s Statement:
Mom was born from a very simple question: what do we carry inside us that allows us to survive? I grew up far from France, on an island, with a mother whose love felt like a whole universe. When I started making this film — alone, in my apartment — I wanted to capture that: the interior world as a refuge, memory as resistance. The surveillance cameras came naturally. We live in a world that watches us, tracks us, reduces us. But what no camera can ever reach is what we hold inside — the flower of joy, the intimate space where colors bloom and the boundary between self and other disappears. Mom is my attempt to make that invisible world visible.
