Russian motorists face long lines as escalating strikes cause fuel shortages

Motorists across Russia are lining up at petrol stations as the nation faces a fuel shortage.

Drivers are waiting as long as 40 minutes to fill their tanks while many stations have run out of fuel and closed down.

Ukraine has ramped up strikes on oil refineries to reduce Moscow’s energy revenue.

Russian authorities have banned exports of gasoline and diesel, eased fuel quality requirements and begun importing petroleum products to boost supply.
