‘Ridiculous contract’: Snowy Hydro 2.0 could cost up to $40 billion

News24 contributor Joe Hildebrand discusses the construction of the Snowy Hydro 2.0 that could cost an estimated “$40 billion”.

“From about $2 billion when it was first announced to now looking like possibly even $40 billion, if you can imagine that,” Mr Hildebrand said.

“A ridiculous contract that was drawn up that gives, I think it’s the Italian company that’s behind it huge leeway in being able to charge almost kind of whatever they want.”
