Poison Ivy HBO Series: The Batman 2 Theory Takes a Hit

Poison Ivy’s HBO Series Could Change DC’s Batman Plans, especially now that reports suggest the potential series won’t connect to Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe.

According to Deadline, HBO is developing a possible Poison Ivy series, with Lauren LeFranc, the acclaimed showrunner behind The Penguin, in talks to produce. However, the project reportedly exists outside Robert Pattinson’s Gotham, raising major questions about where Pamela Isley could fit into DC’s expanding live-action universe.

Could Poison Ivy become part of James Gunn’s DCU? Will HBO embrace her comic book plant powers instead of the grounded approach associated with Matt Reeves? And what does this mean for Scarlett Johansson’s rumored role in The Batman Part II?

We explore the conflicting reports surrounding the Poison Ivy television series, why LeFranc’s involvement doesn’t necessarily mean another Penguin spinoff, and how DC has already demonstrated its willingness to develop separate Batman continuities.

We also examine Poison Ivy’s live-action history, from Uma Thurman’s Batman & Robin portrayal to her appearances on Batwoman, and why a standalone HBO series could finally give the character room to grow.
The project remains unconfirmed by DC Studios and HBO, but its reported direction could reveal a lot about the future of Batman’s rogues’ gallery.

Would you prefer a superpowered Poison Ivy or a grounded Gotham villain?
