PM ‘too quick’ to claim victory as report reveals ‘damning’ counterterrorism findings

Sky News Australia Defence Analyst Peter Jennings says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has claimed victory “too quickly” after the interim findings of the Bondi Royal Commission were released.

“I felt that the Prime Minister was too quick to claim victory, I felt that he clearly hadn’t looked at the report as closely as I have today,” Mr Jennings told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

“I can tell you that there’s a number of findings in it which are very damning and broadly they paint a picture of a counterterrorism establishment which had become a bit too focused on process, a bit too bureaucratised.”
