Pete Hegseth warned Iran war could be ‘too much for too long’ by top military leaders

Top US military commanders have reportedly warned War Secretary Pete Hegseth that the six-month Iran war is becoming dangerously unsustainable.

The blunt assessment was captured in a classified orders document, with one official describing the situation as “too much for too long.”

Several four-star commanders formally objected to extending deployments, warning the drawn-out conflict is putting pressure on forces needed elsewhere.

Navy chief Adm. Daryl Caudle reportedly told Hegseth the service cannot maintain the current pace without a clear end date.

Other commanders warned that diverting ships, aircraft and surveillance assets to Iran is weakening homeland-defence missions across the globe.
