Pedestrians killed in Victoria reaches highest number in 17 years

The number of pedestrians killed in Victoria has reached its highest number in 17 years.

Data from the Transport Accident Commission shows 51 fatalities in the state as of yesterday.

Large SUVs and utes made up 78 per cent of new car sales in 2023.

Driver and vehicle passenger deaths have fallen by 10 per cent since 2015.
