“Not Buying Isn’t a Solution.” Yes It Is. Let’s Talk

My GTA 6 leak video got real pushback, and the best comment deserved a full response. The argument: walking away is a principled statement, not a solution, because enough informed people just don’t care, the commenter’s example being Magic: The Gathering’s licensed-character direction. My answer: it is a solution, it’s just one that makes people uncomfortable, because it means the thing you loved may have to go on without you. Optional media is optional. You convince the majority through arguments or through product, those are the only two levers, and continuing to fund what you call unethical while griping about it is the exact behavior publishers price in. Plus why the leaks may be backfiring, and the cultural stall I reject: the idea that it’s the 30-year-old thing or nothing.
