Musk hits back over X’s AI criticisms as UK government hints at possible ban

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is promising to act against Elon Musk’s social media platform X after it was revealed its AI function was used to generate several non-consensual deepfakes.

He is now hinting at banning X in the UK.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says the creation of the images is, quote, “abhorrent” and social media companies need to take more responsibility.

X owner Elon Musk says the UK government wants an excuse for censorship.
