‘More extreme content’: Labor set to announce digital duty of care into parliament

Energy and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen says Australians have a “problem” with social media algorithms as Labor looks set to announce its digital duty of care legislation in parliament.

“We have a problem … and that problem is very much driven by social media,” Mr Bowen said.

“Sexual assaults are way up.

“We have a problem of algorithms that are driving people to more and more extreme content.”
