Labor warned to focus on working-class vote amid One Nation surge

Former treasurer Wayne Swan has issued a challenge to the Albanese Government as he finishes his term as National Labor Party President.

Mr Swan spoke at the party’s National Forum Policy this week, warning that Labor’s traditional voters are warming to One Nation because they aren’t convinced the major party is on their side.

He believes Labor MPs and other members need to speak in a way that resonates with everyday workers and avoid bureaucratic language.
