Krakow shooting leaves six dead, including British citizen | BBC News

An attack in Krakow’s Main Market Square on Saturday has left six people dead.

Police said a 25-year-old man drove into the square “before beginning to fire at random people from his car”.

Poland’s Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński said the suspect is a Polish national.

He added that it looks like he held “very radical views” and that everything indicates he was inspired by “far-right ideologies”.

One of the six people killed in the attack has been identified as a British national.

The head of Poland’s police force, Marek Boroń, says 16 more people were injured, including two police officers, five foreign nationals and the suspect.

Krakow is also holding two days of mourning, with businesses in the city closed today after the attack.
