Jewish leaders warn Albanese to not rewrite hate speech laws to appease Greens
Jewish leaders are warning Prime Minister Anthony Albanese against a deal with the Greens to rewrite Labor’s hate speech laws.
The Greens say it will not support the bill unless the government’s reforms are widened to protect all religions and other types of hatred.
Leading Jewish groups have joined calls for parliament to be allowed more time to consider the legislation.
Parliament will return on Monday to debate the legislation.
