James Bond: Jack Lowden Could End the Craig-Era Formula
James Bond: Why Jack Lowden Is the Perfect Choice. With the search for Daniel Craig’s successor reportedly narrowing, Slow Horses star Jack Lowden may have exactly what the next 007 needs.
Reports have linked Lowden, Callum Turner, and Josh O’Connor to the next James Bond movie, with Denis Villeneuve directing and Steven Knight writing the screenplay. But what makes Lowden stand out from the competition, and why could his experience playing MI5 agent River Cartwright give him an unexpected advantage?
We’re breaking down the latest reported James Bond casting shortlist, examining the strengths of each contender, and exploring why Amazon MGM may be looking for something very different from Daniel Craig’s physically demanding interpretation of the character.
From Lowden’s Scottish roots and theater background to his ability to balance vulnerability, charm, and intelligence, there’s a compelling argument for why he could become the next 007. We’ll also examine why Jacob Elordi and Jack O’Connell reportedly aren’t moving forward and what that might reveal about the studio’s plans.
With a new creative team preparing to reinvent one of cinema’s most recognizable characters, the next James Bond casting decision could define the franchise for years.
