‘Ill-placed joke’: JD Vance risks overshadowing powerful 9/11 unity message with Biden jab
News24 contributor Kristin Tate says US Vice President JD Vance’s call for Americans to come together was the important message but worries his joke about Joe Biden may have distracted from the significance of his remarks.
“I do think that JD will be doing most of the heavy lifting in those intense intellectual conversations,” Ms Tate told News24 host Chris Kenny.
“It may have been a misplaced joke, and of course what he said before that was most important.
“Hopefully that important message did not get overshadowed by the ill-placed joke.”
