I Write for an Audience. And I’ll Admit It.

I write for an audience, and I know some creators don’t like that I admit it, but it’s the honest truth. I’m not one of those creators who thinks you’re supposed to worship the ground I walk on like I’m a blessing for creating something. I’ve never viewed it that way, going all the way back to music. None of this works without an audience. Now, two things can be true. You have to do something you enjoy, otherwise you won’t last and you’ll make yourself miserable. But you can also tailor it for an actual audience. I write my stories with the reader in mind because it does us no good if nobody’s interested. We need readers. We need buyers. So I write for them, and I’m grateful for every one of them.
