How a zeptoverse breakthrough could unlock the secrets of dark matter | BBC News
Scientists have picked up signals from the smallest scale of nature ever explored – 100 billion times smaller than an atom.
It’s a world so small that some physicists have nicknamed it the zeptoverse.
The research was obtained from an experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, and could help researchers develop a new, more complete theory of how the Universe works.
It was led by scientists based in Cambridge, who told the BBC funding withdrawals from the UK meant the country’s full involvement in the research could be in doubt.
