Harry Potter Trailer: HBO Is Fixing the Movies’ Biggest Problem
HBO’s latest look at the Wizarding World has already reignited the debate over whether this series is simply recreating the beloved movies. But some of the teaser’s smallest moments suggest the real changes have much less to do with how Hogwarts looks and much more to do with how the story is being told.
We break down three details that could define HBO’s Harry Potter adaptation, beginning with a major shift away from Harry’s limited perspective. Glimpses of the Weasley family and Hermione suggest supporting characters could receive storylines that unfold without Harry being present, turning the series into more of an ensemble drama.
