George W Bush reacts to the death of former vice president Dick Cheney

Former US president George W Bush has led the tributes for Dick Cheney, calling him one of the finest public servants.

“The death of Richard B. Cheney is a loss to the nation and a sorrow to his friends. Laura and I will remember Dick Cheney for the decent, honourable man that he was. History will remember him as among the finest public servants of his generation,” Mr Bush said.

White House flags were also lowered in remembrance of the former vice president.
