Early September heat records tumble in Sydney
Bureau of Meteorology Senior Meteorologist Jonathan How says Sydney CBD has broken an early Spring heat record, reaching a top of 32 degrees Celsius.
“Remarkable heat for early spring … we have now set an early spring heat record,” Mr How told News24.
“Previously, the warmest it’s been this early in spring was 31.1 degrees … we’ve now surpassed 32.
“Many other suburbs across the city have also set those new records, all the way to Penrith and Richmond in the west; Linton Park, Campbelltown, Camden have all seen these new early September heat records fall today.”
