Drivers and truckers react to diesel prices climbing above $6 per gallon, with one clip showing a station posting roughly $7.60. The frustration is especially sharp for commercial drivers because fuel is one of their largest operating costs, and even small increases can quickly add hundreds of dollars to a fill-up. Nationally, on-highway diesel averaged about $6.38 per gallon on September 28 after reaching roughly $6.53 the previous week, so the sticker shock in the clip reflects a real nationwide surge rather than an isolated station.
