Donald Trump calls for new Ukrainian leadership

US President Donald Trump has called for new leadership in Ukraine, telling current President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop attacking Russian oil refineries.

Mr Trump said Ukraine needs a leader who can make a deal, after Washington temporarily eased sanctions on Russian diesel exports.

Those comments come in the wake of more Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, killing 20 people, including three children, on October 10.

Mr Zelensky has criticised the US diesel agreement for giving Moscow the resources it needs to keep the war going.
