Donald Trump BETTER NOT Do This!
Trump BACKS Hegseth As Republicans Plot His Downfall!
Pete Hegseth may be about to become the fall guy for the Republican midterm disaster. Rep. Thomas Massie says he intends to reintroduce articles of impeachment against the defense secretary unless Hegseth resigns, potentially forcing a House vote during the lame-duck session.
Behind the scenes, the knives are reportedly already out. CNN says Republican lawmakers and administration allies are blaming Hegseth for aggressively promoting the Iran war while overselling the prospect of a quick victory. One anonymous administration official offered an absolutely brutal prediction: Hegseth probably knows he is “dead” politically but may want an exit dramatic enough to launch a presidential campaign
Another anonymously sourced report claims White House aides are leaking against Hegseth so he absorbs the blame for the election collapse. That allegation remains uncorroborated. Hegseth has not resigned, been fired or been impeached.
Donald Trump’s public position makes the entire battle even stranger. Asked whether Hegseth was on the way out, Trump said no and insisted he was doing “a very good job.” The White House says the president retains confidence in him, even as reporting suggests Trump has privately asked advisers about his performance.
We break down Massie’s impeachment move, the Republican scapegoat operation, Trump’s public defense and why the fight over Hegseth may become the first major casualty of the post-midterm Republican civil war.
