‘Disaster’: Victoria’s net debt to soar to $199 billion
Former Treasury assistant secretary David Pearl says Victoria is in a “mess” as their net debt is projected to rise to a record $199 billion in 2029.
Mr Pearl told Sky News host Peta Credlin the Victorian “disaster” is a product of “politicised bureaucracy, Labor monopoly” and an “implicit guarantee” from the Commonwealth.
“Those three things explain the mess in Victoria. Ultimately, if it’s not corrected, it’s going to land on the Commonwealth’s desk.”
