Did Marvel Just Retcon Avengers: Endgame for Doomsday?
Marvel just added three major scenes to Avengers: Endgame, and each one appears designed to build a direct bridge into Avengers: Doomsday. Major spoilers for the Endgame Encore ahead.
The biggest addition completely changes the context surrounding Steve Rogers’ ending. Steve and Peggy Carter’s dance is interrupted when Loki arrives at the door in his TVA uniform, suggesting Captain America’s decision to remain in the past may have consequences far beyond what Endgame originally showed.
That isn’t the only surprise. Bruce Banner is now being held deep underground following the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, only for Doctor Doom to infiltrate the facility and announce that he has come to “collect” him. The scene raises huge questions about Hulk’s potential role in Doomsday and what Doom actually wants from Banner.
